LARA has spent the last eight years teaching art and yoga to children in the Tri-State area. During this time, Lara designed, implemented and taught art and yoga classes for the South Street Seaport Museum, Newark Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hamilton Park Montessori, Early Childhood Centers for the YWCA-NYC and the After-School Program in lower Manhattan T.A.S.C. She also was an art therapy intern for the Jewish Guild for the Blind and has assisted Yogart during the summers at Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, MA.
Lara earned her M.A. in
Children's Literature, Art & Oral History, from the Gallatin School
at New York University (NYU) and her B.F.A in Painting with a minor in
Art History from Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins,
Colorado.
Lara completed the academic training for Montessori Elementary. She holds a variety of
children's yoga certifications from the following training programs:
YogaKids (200 hr.certification), Next Generation Yoga, EveryKid's Yoga:
Teaching Yoga to Kids with Varied Abilities and Needs. Lara is also a
certified Adult Hatha 1 Yoga Instructor (200 hr. certification) from
Integral Yoga Institute in NYC.
